The Nissan Qashqai is a compact crossover SUV produced by the Japanese automaker Nissan since 2006. The first generation of the Qashqai was introduced in 2007. It was designed for the European market, where it quickly became popular due to its combination of sporty style and practicality.
The 2007 Nissan Qashqai offers a choice of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol range includes a 1.6-liter and a 2.0-liter engine, while the diesel range includes a 1.5-liter and a 2.0-liter engine. Depending on the engine, the Qashqai can be paired with either a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual or a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) gearbox.
The Qashqai is available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. It comes with a range of standard features such as air conditioning, power windows and mirrors, remote central locking, audio system with CD player, and 16-inch alloy wheels. Higher trims add features such as automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, and 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels.
The Qashqai was well-received by critics and customers alike, helping Nissan to establish itself as a key player in the European crossover SUV market. It was also instrumental in the development of the Nissan-Renault Alliance, which shared platforms and technologies to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
